Code can present itself in many ways and in many art forms. The rapid presentations of color presents itself in a hierarchal format that exists within the syntax of coding. Visualization of data science seems verbose to the untrained eye but with training, we are able to access the range of information the code represents. Below is an abstract of a research paper im hoping to publish entitled: “Gender Distribution of major contributors across PyPi and NPM projects “
Open Source Software (OSS) creates a platform for individuals to collaborate on software and programmable projects across a network of interfaces. GitHub is the most popular repository for open source code (1). It has more than 3.5 million users ranging different gender expressions, as the company declared in April 2013, and more than 10 million repositories, as of December 2013 (1). More specifically, NPM is a public collection of javascript written packages of open-source code for Node.js, front-end web apps, mobile apps, robots, and routers hosted on the Github platform. Interactions among NPM developers are of a complex nature and take place in different forms (1). Developers create and fork repositories, push code, approve code pushed by others, bookmark their favorite projects and follow other developers to keep track of their activities all on the Github platform (1).
